"This image of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, came gradually to me over the course of a year.  As I used the 23rd Psalm in my daily prayer life, it was as if each verse was revealing yet another facet of God's overwhelming care for me.  Like a sheep, I wanted to "own" him as my shepherd.  Developing this image was also a process that included a trip to a sheep farm in North Carolina, experimenting with different media, and having a friend pose as the Good Shepherd."
